What You Don't Know, Will Cost You!
November 19, 2012
You may have heard of the Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI). PQRI has now become a permanent part of government program reporting and, as such, has been renamed the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS).
“Quality” in healthcare is an increasing concern for policymakers. In 2006, The Tax Relief and Healthcare Act linked reimbursement for the Medicare program to reporting on quality measures—PQRS is the program associated with this. It is a program that promotes reporting of quality information by eligible professionals, including doctors of chiropractic.
The program currently provides an incentive payment to eligible professionals who satisfactorily report data on quality measures for covered services furnished to Medicare Part B beneficiaries. Beginning in 2015, the program will apply a payment reduction to eligible professionals who do NOT satisfactorily report data on quality measures for covered professional services in 2013 and beyond. Therefore, 2012 is your last opportunity to voluntarily participate in PQRS while an incentive is still offered and reimbursement is not subject to penalty.
If you have never heard of or participated in PQRS, you may not know where to begin. If you reported unsuccessfully in previous years, you may not know where you went wrong. In either case, this webinar is for YOU!
